Follow me on my journey as I go from “Shit to Fit”

“From Shit to Fit!” – Chris Jones’ P O G

I borrowed this quote from Chris Jones because even though it might sound cruel, or judgmental, that’s EXACTLY how I felt.

I say ‘felt’ because although I’m not fit yet, I don’t feel like “shit’” anymore. I’m happy with the progress that I’ve made, so far. My health has improved, and I can actually say that I like exercising and weight training!

Before I tell you about myself, I’d like to say Thank You to a few people;

To my Facebook Friends:

Ethel Chambers- Gardner

Kenneth “K.P.” Guidroz

Alayne Aayat-Adapt

I’ve never met you, maybe I never will. I’ve never heard the sound of your voice, but your words have changed me forever.

Blair Davis, RN; Thanks for calling me, and giving me that kick in the Ass when I really needed it!

My Elite Heat Fit Fam:

Malenna Saunders (Team Leader/Coach) - Thanks for graciously welcoming an awkward

newbie to your team of beautiful and fit women.

Sheri Newton (Personal Trainer/Nutrition Coach) - Thanks for your continued patience and guidance on this journey, whether in it’s in the gym or out.

Jadi Collado, and Mary Solis (Teammates) - thanks for completely ignoring that often off=putting intense look I always seem to carry, and reaching out to me at that first meeting.

Nicole Gittens (Teammate)-For putting your arm around a complete stranger and letting me know that I’m not doing this by myself.

The Elite Heat Fit Fam (The whole team) - for providing a friendly and completely judgment free zone you a Lady that clearly didn’t belong.

As I relay my story, you’ll see how each person played a role in my journey. Some people still do daily.

I’ve read posts by many people that call what I’m doing a “transformation”. I used to do that myself; not anymore though. To me a transformation implies a start and finish.  Some people call this is a “journey” which implies something continuous. That’s what this is to me CONTINUEOUS! The journey will end when my brothers put me in a box and lay flowers over me.

I’ll post my first official blog after this one, then after that I will post weekly. I recently became a Beachbody coach, and I’m doing the Focus T25 Challenge with Mary Solis, so I’ll be updating everyone on how that’s going.

I’m not posting to sell products, I’m doing this in the hope that I can help someone the way the people I mentioned above have helped me.
As an RN, I see many people that become disabled and even die from the very same conditions that I have. I am a former smoker, and I have Diabetes and Hypertension. I feel blessed that with the small amount of progress that I made I’ve been able to get my Diabetes under control (no more Insulin injections), my blood pressure has gone down, and that I was able to quit smoking “Cold Turkey” the first time I tried.

I’ve always felt that if you want to keep getting blessings, then you have to share them.  You keep them, you lose them. So that’s what I’m doing, sharing with you.

Thanks for visiting with me! : )
